The Calcione Castle and its houses, are located within a large estate in the territory of Lucignano, in the famous Val di Chiana. An area of Tuscany which preserves a large natural heritage alternating cultivated fields with rolling hills, forests, olive groves and vineyards.
Already in the tenth century the Calcione Castle was known as the seat of the Monks of St. Eugene, before becoming, in 1483, owned by the family of Lotteringhi stove, which chose it as his residence. The history of the castle became from that moment part of the history of the noble family to which, in 1632, was awarded the title of Marquis by Ferdinando de 'Medici.
